This category is for those who are making headway with greener energy management; farmers who have taken steps to start producing energy themselves or adopting ways to conserve energy. The judges are looking for the early pioneers in this new field and want to see evidence of reductions in the use of energy on farm and efforts to lower the carbon footprint. Farmers actively involved in producing or processing energy as power, heat, fuel or electricity are ideal candidates for this category.
